Kenneth Monroe Ackman, Sr., age 80, of Custer, SD, passed away November 5, 2010, at the Custer Regional Senior Care Center in Custer.
Kenneth proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from September 4, 1947, until his honorable discharge on August 29, 1951.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Custer; three daughters, Lisa Johnson of Custer; Tina Anker of Custer; Sherry Morales of MI; one son, Kenneth (Laurie) Ackman, II of Peoria AZ; four brothers, Howard (Dorothy) Ackman of Chandler, AZ; Ronnie (Shirley) Ackman of Mitchell, SD; Jim (June) Ackman of Groton, SD; Carl Ackman of Jacksonville, FL; four sisters, Sally Ackman of Sun City, AZ; Nancy (Don) Sharp of Oklahoma City, OK; Janet (Kenneth) Mayne of Horseshoe Bay, TX; Vickie (Jim) Soderlund of Phoenix, AZ; eighteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the Custer VFW Post 3442 with Van Arp officiating.
A memorial in Kenneth's name has been established to benefit the Custer VFW Post 3442 Elevator Fund.
