Kenneth S. Field, 83, of Hot Springs, SD passed away peacefully surrounded by his family March 29, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hot Springs.

Ken was born November 26, 1924 to Erick and Sarah Field at the family farm near Lake Preston, SD. He was graduated from Hetland High School in 1942. He served in the US Navy from 1943 – 1946.

Ken is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen; his children, Susan (Ken) Haden and Barry (Carol) Field, Hot Springs. John ('Jef') Field, Fremont, NE; grandchildren, Scott (Denise) Haden, Hot Springs; Shelly (Mark) Lemery, Rapid City, SD; Erick (Heather) Field, Fruita, CO; Kristi (Darren) Kuhn, St. Francis, MN; Baylee and Barry Field, Fremont, NE; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward and Robert; three sisters, Esther Garlock, Dagney Crow and Helga Ofstad.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Committal services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Chaplain Willard Olsen officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Sturgis Honor Guard.
