Kenneth A. 'Ken' Wilcox, age 87, of Hot Springs, SD, died on March 8, 2013, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Ken was born on February 3, 1926, to William H. Sr., and Margaret (Birdsall) Wilcox and spent all but his military years in Hot Springs. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and in Korea. He loved to hunt and fish. Ken retired from the Veterans Administration in 1981. At age 65, he received his pilot's license and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. He was a faithful follower of Christ and was an active member of the United Churches.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday March 12, 2013, at The United Churches in Hot Springs with Pastor Clint Walker officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.

Ken is survived by his wife, Yvonne (Lyerla) Wilcox; daughter, Sally (Wilcox) Grey of California; stepson, James R. Quick, Jr. of California; stepdaughter, Rhonda (Quick) Semm of California; sister-in-law, Jo Ann (Lyerla) Presley of Alabama; brother-law, Ted Presley of Alabama; brother-in-law, Ronald Lyerla of Alabama; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and cousins, Walter and Carolyn Wilcox of Kentucky.

Ken was preceded in death by his brother, William H. Wilcox, Jr. who was killed in WWII and by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Ken's name may be sent to the United Churches Mission Fund.
