Kevin Wallace Neff, 67, died Monday, June 9, 2025 at Monument Health Hospice House in Rapid City, South Dakota. Kevin was born on October 5, 1957 in Placerville, California to Sherrill W Neff and Barbara E (Clouse) Neff.

Kevin spent his youth in the logging business in the Sierra Nevada mountains. He moved to South Dakota in 2004 and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in 2021.

Kevin loved playing pool and had an infectious laugh. Even though he presented as a tough guy, he was known to shed a tear or two while watching heartwarming movies or TV shows. He also had a soft spot for his pets.

He is survived by his wife Peggy (Vlasik Jones) Neff, his children Andrea (Kevin) Herman, Justin (Amanda Velazquez) Neff, Emma Tyler-Neff, and five grandchildren. He will be missed by his sisters Lauri Brents, Tina Brents Barnhart, Kimberly Brents and brothers Jimmie Brents and Larry Parker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Dessal Neff and Kenneth Neff.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Somerset, El Dorado County, California later this year.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.
