Laura J. Clark

Laura J. Clark, 88, of Edgemont, SD, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Services will be 10:00am Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs, SD.  Dirk Jasperse will officiate. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024, in Custer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Chamberlain-McColley's Funeral Home. Laura was born in Clearwater, FL to Audey and Pearl Barlow. She lived there after she married Bill and then they moved to Canada for a year and back to FL for a short time. Their family settled in Edgemont for the majority of their lives.  When not at home, she worked as a stenographer for the railroad, admin at Silver King Mines and the Black Hills Forest Service.

She married William 'Bill' James Clark on October 4, 1958.  Laura lived a full life, first and foremost as a loyal servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, devoted wife and mother to four children. Bill and Laura thoroughly enjoyed socializing and sharing coffee and meals with family and friends.  Laura loved being Mom and Grandma. She had a special, kind heart and possessed an absolute fondness and love for children.

Laura is survived by her four children, Christine Muse of Custer, SD; William (Billy) Joseph (Stephanie) Clark of Edgemont, SD; Kim (Chad) Anderson of Elko, NV; and Jamie (Ann) Clark of Hinton, IA.  Laura was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Survivors also include her very special niece Sharon.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William James Clark, her parents, granddaughters Tiffany Clark and Jayme Manke, and grandson Devon Sammons.  Laura's sisters Christine and Wilma, brothers-in-law and nephews, also preceded.

Memorials may be given in Laura's memory to the Southern Hill Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs, SD.
