Leona Pearl Sheets, age 91, of Hot Springs, SD passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 at Castle Manor in Hot Springs.

Leona was born September 29, 1917 in Crawford, NE to Hanz and Carrie (Turner) Rasmussen. She was a lifelong resident of the Hot Springs and Custer areas. Leona was loved by all her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by four sons, Earl Sheets of Hot Springs; John (Josie) Asche of Borrego Springs, CA; Joe (Carol) Sheets of Stewart, OK; Glen "Tuffy" (Pat) Sheets of Kent, WA; two daughters, Norma Craft of Sioux City, IA; Martha VanAntwerp of Belle Fourche, SD; step-children, Lola Smith of Rapid City, SD; Lucille (Dean) Sturdivant of Orin Junction, WY; Darrel "Shakey" (Joann) Sheets of Hot Springs; two sisters, Shirley Rife of Logan, IA; Laura Daniels of CA; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great great-granchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs with Pastor Bill Savery officiating.

Interment will follow at the Custer Cemetery, Custer. SD.
