Leslie Eugene Hilton, age 53, passed away at his home in Custer, SD, on Sunday, February 10, 2019.

Leslie also known as "Les" was born in Custer and raised in Hill City, SD. As a youngster he would hike throughout the Black Hills, he knew every trail and didn't leave one rock un-turned. Les moved to Summit County, CO where he met Kim, his wife of 25 years. Together they raised their two kids Ashley and Brandon and later in life adopted Zachary, bringing him into their family as their third child. Les began to become ill and they left the mountains.

Les moved his family to Watford City, ND, and got a job hauling crude oil. Les, Kim and his brother in law started their own oil hauling company known as J& H Oilfield Services. After selling the business they moved to Custer. Where he first started out his life. Les loved his family, friends, and people. He loved to share amazing and funny stories. Les' all-time passion was classic cars, he lived and breathed them. Les was very proud of the ones he acquired. His favorite holiday was the 4 ^th of July. Les made sure to host the biggest 4 ^th of July parties ever. He loved to travel and see different places, he always said he was fortunate to have seen the beautiful country. Les also loved fishing, guns, and his animals.

Les started to become very ill the last four years of his young life. Kim and Les went to Colorado for over six weeks to take a newly approved medicine for the AML he was diagnosed with. They had high hopes for the new drug. When we they were told the medicine didn't work, we returned home where Les wanted to live out the rest of his life. He got to spend two days in his home, when he lost his life to leukemia. So many family and friends were by his side when he left us. Les will be missed by so many. He loved life.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Custer Lutheran Fellowship with Pamela Power officiating.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer.
