Leslie Melvin 'Les' Sletten was born December 21, 1930, near Toronto, South Dakota. He was a Purple Heart Army Veteran from the Korean War in 1950.
In 1957, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Tirrel, they farmed near Toronto, SD, for five years, they moved to California in 1968, where Les worked for American Airlines until he retired in 1993, and moved to Custer, SD.
They have three children, Connie Parker of Co; Randy Sletten of Custer; Rick (Carrie) Sletten of CA. They have six grandsons, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, Kunte and Josie (Benson) Sletten; sister, Agnes Tolrud; brother, Kenneth Sletten and grandson, Brian Parker.
Les passed away peacefully in his home February 16, 2013 at the age of 82.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Living Outreach Church in Custer with Pastor Joel Ziolkowski officiating. Interment will follow at the Custer Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Leslie's name to benefit the Gideon's.
