Obituary
Lester LeRoy Leaver, 79, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Fort Meade Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sturgis, SD.
Lester was born October 21, 1932, in Tower City, ND, to Jesse and Emma (Smith) Leaver. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Leaver of Tacoma, WA; Jeff Leaver of Helena, MT; daughter, Laurie Balcom of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Floyd Leaver of Sioux City, IA; three sisters, Rose Namanny of Rapid City, SD; Beverly Humphrey of Hobbs, NM, and Carol Strege of Belen, NM.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Committal services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Black Hills National Cemetery with Chaplain Morris Nelson officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the SD National Guard and Sturgis Veterans Honor Guards.
