Linda Epp Klippenstein of Hot Springs, South Dakota passed away in her home June 25th 2009. She was 93. Linda was born on her parent's homestead near Laird, Saskatchewan, Canada. Five brothers and one sister preceded Linda into the spiritual world. Her younger sister, Clara lives in B.C. Canada.
Linda met and married her soul mate, W.B Klippenstein on June 25th, 1936 in Saskatchewan. Their belief in the eternity of marriage gave them the strength and confidence to work through obstacles and become one vessel. They farmed and raised livestock. In 1948 they moved to Pennsylvania with their 4 children, where they managed a farm with registered cattle and horses. Forrest, born in Pennsylvania, and the other children attended the Academy of the New Church Schools. When the children all graduated, Klip and Linda moved west again in 1973, to their new ranch in Oral, South Dakota. They retired to Hot Springs in 1987. In this wonderful marathon journey Linda touched many lives in positive and diverse ways.
Linda was a lifelong member of the Extension club; Cattlewoman's Association, the Republican Party and served as treasurer of her local Church. She enjoyed supporting 4-H and school athletic events.
Linda was devoted to God, her family, friends and the United States of America. Her perspective and this devotion made her a role model and mentor to more people than she ever realized. This gentle, perceptive woman, with abundant good cheer appreciated the uniqueness of each individual. She was born to be an angel. She loved studying the Lord's Word. She believed being useful to the neighbor is the truest form of charity. She often seemed to have one foot in heaven and one on earth.
The recipient of Linda's love and wisdom included her 5 children and their spouses; Glen and Linda, Kent and Marcia, Marc and Rachel, Peggy and Jim, Forrest and Mary, the 15 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, her extended family and her many friends.
