Lloyd Theodore Honadel passed away after a short illness, on May 30, 2008, at Castle Manor in Hot Springs, SD, at the age of 85 years 5 months and 13 days, of congestive heart failure.

Lloyd was born December 17, 1922 at Edgemont, SD to Theodore Jacob and Caroline Johanna (Schlagenbusch) Honadel. He lived all of his life with his sister, Helen on the family homestead which was settled established in 1910.

Lloyd had a fantastic memory and very knowledgeable of the areas early history. He enjoyed traveling to the gun shows, target shooting and attending auction sales. He loved the animals, especially his dog "Sherman".

Lloyd is survived by cousins, Howard (Wyoma) Honadel, Newcastle, WY; Harold Honadel & Jo, Edgemont, SD; Betty Scott, Loveland, CO; Richard (Iva Belle)Honadel, Evanston, WY; Alfred (Dorothy) Honadel, Spearfish, SD; Maxine Honadel, Glenrock, WY; Donald (Carol) Honadel, Montrose, IA; Jerry (Marcella)Honadel, Ft. Madison, IA; and Lorrie Strobel, Milwaukee, WI. Also mourning his death are "very special friends" Jim & Ann Litzel, Toy & Brenda Litzel, Vincent Childers and many other old time friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Edgemont, SD.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Baptist Church in Edgemont with Reverend Marion Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Edgemont Cemetery.
