Lloyd B. Neugebauer, age 80, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Lloyd was born June 7, 1930 in Ethan, SD, to Walter and Marie (Bertram) Neugebauer.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Pittsburg from May 1951 until his honorable discharge in May 1955.
Lloyd owned and operated a farm and dairy on the Irrigation Project at Oral from 1961 until 2004. In his retirement he ranched with his family. He enjoyed his retirement years assisting his family on the farm and ranch; something he truly loved to do.
He was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a life member of the Buckaroos and a member of the BHEC in Custer for 21 years, Rushmore Electric in Rapid City for 15 years and Midwest Electric in Denver, CO for 9 years.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice; two sons, Steve (Genie) Neugebauer of Oral, SD; Duane (Dawn Marie) Neugebauer of Billings, MT; two daughters, Sharon (Leo) Hausman of Oral; Valerie (James) Sword of Hot Springs; brothers, Marvin (Carol) and Stanley (Joy) Neugebauer both of Hermosa, SD; sister, Lois (Alvin) Rudd of Hermosa; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Don.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2010 at St John's Lutheran Church near Hot Springs with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker and Pastor John Hopper officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery near Oral, SD.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials in Lloyd's name be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 13275 Fall River Road, Hot Springs, SD 57747.
