Lucille Mae Decker, 67, of Edgemont, SD, passed away January 19, 2022, at Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Springs, SD.

Lucille was born March 13, 1954, in a major winter storm, to her parents, Melvin and Janet Porter.   Melvin had to drive Janet 38 miles from the ranch southwest of Edgemont,  to Hot Springs, as Edgemont didn't have a hospital.    She enjoyed two brothers, Kenneth and Everett whom she truly loved with all of her heart.

Lucille graduated from Edgemont High School in 1973.  During her school years she enjoyed her membership in 4-H, learning and mastering the art of sewing and baking.   Her favorite part of 4-H was showing cattle from her family's herd of Registered Hereford cattle.

Lucille married Howard Robertson in 1973 and they moved to Medicine Bow, WY where they started their family with Matthew, with April and Raymond soon following.  After divorcing Howard, she came home to Edgemont and stayed.  She worked a short time for the Edgemont Herald Tribune Newspaper and for over 20 years she meticulously cared for the elderly as a Certified Nursing Assistant.   Lucille's past time was spent sewing, crotcheting, playing cards, but her pride and joy was being a grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lucille is survived by her children, Matthew (Val) Robertson of Buffalo, WY; April (Rob) Stanton of Hot Springs, SD; Raymond (Katelynn Brotherton) Robertson of Edgemont, SD; brother, Everett Porter of Edgemont, SD; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Predeceasing Lucille are her parents and her brother Kenny.
