Lucille Rice Garcia, 102, passed away from this world into the loving arms of Jesus October 8, 2016.
Lucille was born March 4, 1914, in Lebanon, SD, to Frank and Martha (Griese) Paul. She married Robert A. Rice on November 28, 1938, in Lebanon, and they were married for 41 years. To this union, two daughters were born, Barbara and Roberta (Robbie). They moved to Custer, SD in 1953, where Lucille worked in several restaurants. She also sold Avon and worked at Flintstone Village for 10 years. Robert passed away in 1979 and she later married Leo Garcia. Lucille moved to Lincoln, NE, in 1985 and had lived in Union Manor Apartments for 30+ years. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, reading, and find-a-word puzzles. She was a member of Lincoln Baptist Church, Rebekah Golden Lodge #42, Royal Neighbors, and a chartered member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Bill) Blight, Eagle Point, OR; Robbie (Del) Klever, Lincoln, NE; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; twin-sister, Lucy; sister, Francis; brothers, Frank and Lou; as well as great-grandson, Garen Taurianen.
Committal services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Custer Cemetery, in Custer.
