Lulu Louise 'Lu' Yeager, age 89, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away April 22, 2016, at the Pine Hills Retirement Community in Hot Springs.
Lu was born March 31, 1927, in Antelope, MT, to William and Myrtle (Parkhurst) Anderson. As a young woman she was involved with her school newspaper, tap dancing, and loved riding on their family pony. Family and home were Lu's greatest joy. She loved making a home where ever and whenever. At home she loved sewing, knitting, her flower garden, and cooking-stomping on the kitchen floor to let her family (playing down in the "wreck" room) know that dinner was served. Later after the kids were grown, Lu would just ring a small dinner bell for her husband. She was active with both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, helped in local elections at polling stations, and volunteered at the hospital as a "Grey Lady"; but her most treasured moments and memories were of the precious babies and children that she and her family cared for as a foster family. We would like say hank you to all those who provided her with their love, assistance, and care throughout her journey. Lu always said she never wanted to "be at bother" to which we always repeated one of her expression "OH Balls"!
Lu is survived by her son, Walter (Dana) Yeager of Custer, SD; Wilma (George) Fuhrman of Eagle, CO; brother, Archie Morris Anderson of Wolf Point, MT; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Yeager of Springfield, MN; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Lu was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Yeager; son, Randy Yeager; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Plentywood, MT. Committal services will follow at the Antelope Creek Cemetery near Antelope, MT.
