Margaret M. Loucks, age 91, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011, at her daughter, Peggy Leger and Jimmies' home in Custer, SD.
Margaret was born to Joseph and Lillian (Spencer) Roberts on August 18, 1920, in Key West, FL. She was the eldest of fourteen children. In 1940, Margaret met and married Kermit W. Loucks from Sioux Falls, SD. They had five daughters and lived in Key West until 1963.
In 1963, they moved to Dell Rapids, SD; while residing in SD, they spent many happy years in their log cabin in the Black Hills. In 1992, they moved back to Key West. Kermit always called Margaret his sweet southern lady. In Key West they lived with daughters, Janet Bunkers and Peggy Butler.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Kermit, in 1994; her infant daughter, Janet Louise in 1947; and her daughter, Annette Louise in 2007.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Margaret Elize Loucks of Custer; Petty Ann (Jimmie) Leger of Custer; and Janet Marie (Jay) McCabe of Key West; siblings, Joe Roberts of Key West; Shirley (Bill) Tabb of Jacksonville, FL; Joyce Frazier of Key West; Sandra (Gaylord) Harvey of Dorwin, MO; Nancy McSpadden of Bald Knob, ARK; Linda Wick of Pensacola, FL; Betty (Terry) Beeman of Sugarloaf Key, FL; nine grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
Her wish was to be buried in Key West with her husband, Kermit.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday October 24, 2011, at the Key West United Methodist Church. Interment will be held in the Key West City Cemetery.
