Margaret E. 'Maggie' May, age 107, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away May 26, 2025, at Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Springs, SD.

Maggie was born August 3, 1917, in Gettysburg, SD, to Frank M. and Florence E. (Blake) Freeman. She married Homer E. May on January 1, 1955, in Orange, CA.  Homer passed away on January 4, 1995. Maggie worked in the health care field as a Registered Nurse and Public Health Nurse.

She was a member of The United Churches in Hot Springs, and the California Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include her niece, Florence Jost; nephew, Ron Gordon; 2 step-grandsons, Michael and Matt Pearson; 3 great nieces and nephews; 5 great great nieces and nephews and 1 great great great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Sarah Gordon;  great niece, Kimberly Degnan and great great niece, Cassidy Degnan.

Committal services will be held Thursday June 5, at 11:00 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs with Pastor Matt Lim officiating.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
