Maria Bossingham, 54, lost her battle with cancer Thursday, March 1, 2012. She was in the comfort of her home, and her final days were spent with her family by her side.

Maria was born August 27, 1957, to Joseph and Mildred Malik. She was raised in a small farming community in Northern Michigan along with her 2 brothers. In 1982 she married Joe Bossingham. Their life together was one that most could only hope to have and their love for each other only grew stronger with each passing day. Together they raised 3 children. In the summer of 1996 they changed scenery and moved from Northern Michigan to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Together they bought a small ranch out in the country and spent every chance they could with their grandchildren. Joe and Maria lived for the days they could spend with the grandkids, and the feelings were mutual. I don't think a day went by that didn't start with "is Grammy picking us up today." The excitement when the answer was "yes" was immeasurable. The love Maria had for her family and friends was amazing. She cleaned houses for a living, and for her, it was more like helping friends out. She loved everyone she worked for, and looked at them like family. Heaven truly has another angel, and anyone who knew Maria knows how blessed they are. She was an amazing wife, mother, Grammy (Mimi) and friend.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joe Bossingham; her son, Seth (Jess) Bossingham of Hot Springs; daughters, Anna (Kyle) Maciejewski of Hot Springs; Erica (Steve) McMillin of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Johnny, Sylas, Gavin, Jake, Maddi and Austin; and her brother Jan Malik of Buckley, MI.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Joseph Malik.

Per Maria's wishes, there will be no services.
