Marie Louise Darby, age 98, of Custer, SD, passed away November 12, 2013, at the Custer Regional Senior Care in Custer.
Marie was born May 6, 1915, in Sunfield Township, MI, to Frank and Lulu (Towns) Steele. She married Forrest Dale Darby on March 24, 1934. They had a daughter, Kay, and a son, Forrest Lee. She was a secretary for the Lake Odessa School, the Doctor's office and the Canning Factory before retiring to Northern Michigan and Florida.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay (David) Coppess of Custer; son, Forrest Lee (Karen) Darby of Hermosa, SD; five grandchildren, Chad (Lisa Lynn) Coppess of Pierre, SD; Lisa Marie (William) Peters of Fairbault, MN; Scott Darby of Battle Creek, MI; Mark Darby of Holt, MI; Wes Darby of Pierre, SD; four great-grandchildren; Cody Coppess of Minneapolis, MN; Austin Peters, Darby Peters and Maia Peters of Fairbault.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2013, at Custer Community Church in Custer with Pastor Bill Comfort officiating.
