Obituary

Marjorie M. Clausen Lee Schaffer passed away on May 21, 2019, at the Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Spring, SD.

Marge was born on March 9, 1928, in Martin, SD to Jess and Cassie Clausen. She grew up on the family farm in the Martin area. Marge moved to Hot Springs in the late 1940's, met and married Forest V. Lee in 1953, this union was blessed with the presence of 8 children. The new Lee family moved to Casper, WY in 1956. Marge returned to the Hot Springs area in 1969, where she went to work for the South Dakota State Veterans Home until her retirement in 1991. She then met and married Billy Shaffer in 1994. Marge enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, and loved her faith and family.

Marge is survived by children, Robert Lee of Tucson, AZ; Richard (Mary Kay) Lee of Peyton, CO; Dianne (David) Crinklaw of Newcastle, WY; Odette (Michael) Coduto of Lakeland, FL; Patricia (Tim) Harris of Hot Springs, SD; sister, Ellen McAdams of Moorcroft, WY; seventeen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; one great great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Cassie Clausen; three husbands, Forest Lee, Herb Kappes, Billy Schaffer; three children, Leroy Clausen, Forest Lee, Jr., Margret Nygaard; three brothers, Everett Clausen, Bill Clausen, Bob Clausen; four sisters, Leora Heath, Cora Sager, Rae Dean Dunsmore, Verla Thayer; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 27, 2019, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Hot Springs. Committal services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

Memorials may be made to the Seven Sisters Activity Fund.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
