Obituary

Mark Goesch was born in Minneapolis, MN on January 24, 1950 to Wilbur and Elaine Goesch and grew up in Ortonville, MN. The family moved to Hot Springs, SD in 1965 where he graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1968 and worked with his Dad in the Crankshaft Service machine shop. His time in Hot Springs included working as a city police officer and several years as a mechanic at Hills Edge Auto. He was also a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church during that time.

In 1999, he moved to Sioux Center, IA where he owned a computer repair business and enjoyed serving on the Heritage Village board and being part of Christ Community Church.

Mark loved all things mechanical and was a machinist with a gift to make things out of nothing like few can do. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine (1997), his father, Wilbur (2017), and his wife, Marlene (2020). He is survived by his daughter, Vonna (Goesch) Laue, and her husband Bryan as well as his granddaughters, Kimberly Laue and Bethany (Laue) Donahue and her husband Andrés.

Committal services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 11,  2022, at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs, SD with Reverend Matthew Lim officiating.
