Marsha I. Doughty, age 58, of Custer, SD, passed away May 5, 2012, peacefully at her home.
Marsha was born April 10, 1954, in Oceanside, CA, to Darrell and Belva (Batterman) Bennett. She lived in Carlsbad and San Marcos, CA, most of her life. In 2007 Marsha retired from Palomar College after working as a counselor for about twenty-seven years and moved to Custer. She was an active member of the Custer Lions Club and Custer Mile High Garden Club. Marsha had a great love of animals, enjoyed painting and hiking in the Black Hills.
Marsha is survived by her husband, Bruce Doughty of Custer; mother, Belva Bennett of Custer; son, Jeremiah (Lisa) Dalton of Carlsbad, CA; daughter, Christine Doughty of San Diego, CA; brother, Allen (Lesly) Bennett of Hot Springs, SD; sisters-in-law, Susan (Bruce) Ewing, Jeri (Jim) Kalvin both of Rapid City, SD; and two granddaughters, Makaylah and Kyiah.
Marsha's impact on our lives will remain forever.
Committal services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Custer Cemetery with Pastor Bill Savery officiating.
Memorials in Marsha's name may be sent to the Rapid City Regional Hospice.
