Obituary
Mary Ellen Frybarger, age 74, of Custer, SD, passed away May 7, 2013, at the Custer Regional Senior Care Center.
Mary was born April 9, 1939, in Hot Springs, SD, to Leo and Edith (Soper) McKenna. She graduated in 1957 from Custer High School and then worked at a dental office in Custer for two years. On September 14, 1958, she married David Frybarger. She was a housewife and homemaker. For eight years she was a farm wife taking care of home and children and doing farm chores including milking cows, caring for the garden, and chasing farm animals and children. Mary was the mother of two sons and one daughter.
Mary was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church; she belonged to Dorcas Society and LMWL League.
Survivors include her husband, David of Custer; sons, Brian (Vernie) Frybarger of Rapid City, SD; Tim Frybarger of Custer; daughter, Cheryl (David) Hodina of Rapid City; sisters, Zilpha (James) Gibson of Valencia, CA; Phyllis McKenna of Antioch, CA; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer with Rev. Steve Wagner officiating. Committal services will follow at the Custer Cemetery.
