Obituary
Mary Ellen Green, age 72, of Hot Springs, SD passed away September 4, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Mary was born May 6, 1936 to Elmer and Nina (Ballou) Nygaard in Faith, South Dakota. She graduated from Igloo High School in 1955. "Mean Ma Green" worked at Maverick as a waitress from 1977 until 1990. She spent a year in Nevada from 1990 until 1991. From 1991 until 1998 she worked at the Super 8 Motel in Hot Springs. She was a friend to everyone.
Mary is survived by her son, Howard (Kristy) Green of Hot Springs; daughter, Brenda Hottell of Yakima, WA; four brothers, Melvin (Margaret) Nygaard of Hot Springs; Elmer (Bonnie) Nygaard of Arvada, CO; Jim Nygaard of Hot Springs; Lawrence Nygaard of Kansas; one sister, Phyllis (Tom) Behrens of Davenport, IA; and four grandchildren, Charlie Green; Tasha Hottell; Jesseca Shay and Jesse Hottell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Terry as well as sisters, Helen and Leone.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs with Dr. J. Edwin Coates officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Mary's name.
