Mary Elizabeth Hoar of Edgemont, SD, passed away December 13, 2013, at Hospice House in Rapid City, SD, after a long battle with cancer.
Mary was born August 18, 1950, to Francis and Charlotte Koller at the Sister's Hospital in Hot Springs, SD. On June 18, 1970, Mary married Marcus Hoar and to this union two children were born.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, motorcycle riding, quilting, craft shows, jewelry, volksmarching, gardening and having nice long talks with her sister, Susan.
Before passing, Mary got to enjoy some time with her new great-grandchild, Pailsey. She brought joy to her life at the end.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Hoar; daughter, Terri (Hector) Flores of Custer; son, John Hoar of Casper, WY; two grandchildren, Melissa (Austin) Bass of Rapid City; David Flores of Custer; great-granddaughter, Pailsey Elizabeth Bass; brothers, John (Janette) Koller of Edgemont; Joseph Koller of Edgemont; sisters, Kathy (Ed) Dibble of Belle Fourche, SD; Susan (David) Bennett of Rapid City; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013, at St. James Catholic Church in Edgemont with Fr. Kerry Prendiville officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to benefit the American Cancer Society.
