Mary Evelyn Doll Linde was born on May 22, 1933 to Emma (Alger) and Paul Doll in the Limestone area near Custer, SD. She attended a country school (Alkakai School) and later Custer High School, where she graduated in 1951. In the spring of 1954, Mary married Jerrold Linde. They had two children, Valerie and Mike. Mary was a lifelong member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she served as treasurer and Sunday school superintendent.

Mary worked in the Custer Post Office for many years. She was also active in the family business. Mary enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with children and they always enjoyed spending time with her.

Mary died on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Emma Doll and her husband Jerrold.

She is survived by her children, Valerie and Rodney Todd of Rapid City, and Mike Linde of Custer, her grandchildren Carrie and Jeremy Beckman of Yakima, WA, Melissa Todd of Kearney, NE, Tom Linde of Custer, and Pete Linde of Custer, her sisters, Helen Weyrich of Newcastle, WY, Bertha Johnson of Revillo, SD and Shirley Davidson of Custer, and her brothers Ralph Doll of Tokyo, Japan, Paul Doll of Cheyenne, WY and David Doll of Custer. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mary will be held from 5:00 until 7: p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 24th, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer with Pastor Robert Anderson officiating.

A memorial has been established for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
