Mary Ann Lorenzen, 72, of Rapid City, SD, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, on September 10, 2024.  Mary Ann was born October 3, 1951, in Minneapolis, MN to Glen and Ann (Roman) Lorenzen.   Mary Ann was a long-time participant at Black Hills Works.

Let's start with what Mary Ann loved – she loved her brother, David, immensely!  She loved soft blankets, stuffed animals, Elvis Presley, snitching other people's food when they weren't looking and she loved riding her electric wheelchair up and down the hallways sharing she needed to round up the GD goats.     Mary Ann had a great sense of humor and loved laughing with others.   Mary Ann was allergic to many things but that didn't keep her from loving to go out and being a part of her community.  She was spunky and had a very affectionate heart and always knew what was going on around her.  But we all know Mary Ann's dearest love was coffee, and then more coffee, first thing in the morning and all through the day, she loved her coffee!

We encourage you to remember Mary Ann as you drink your morning cup of coffee – she would like that and so would we.

Mary Ann is predeceased by her parents and her brother.    Mary Ann is survived by a host of friends who will dearly miss her.

Mary Ann's funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Behrens Wilson Funeral Home in Rapid City, SD, followed by her committal service at the Custer Cemetery in Custer, SD.

Memorials may be given to Black Hills Works in her honor.
