Mary Alice Pekarna, age 70, of Custer, SD, passed away March 10, 2013, at Rapid City Regional Hospice in Rapid City, SD.
Mary was born June 25, 1942 in New Prague, MN, to Lloyd and Mildred (Busch) Vomacka . She was a graduate of Jordan High School, and attended St. Cloud State College. On July 7, 1964, she married Thomas Pekarna. Mary was a member of the South Dakota Master Gardeners.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Pekarna of Custer; mother, Mildred Vomacka of Jordan, MN; son, Jeff Pekarna of LeSueur, MN; two daughters, Sara (Jeff) Bisso of Minnetonka, MN; Amy (David) Walsh of River Falls, WI; brother, Gordon (Kathy) Vomacka of Prior Lake, MN and one granddaughter, Mia Bisso.
