Mary S. Rowe, 91, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs, SD.
She was born in Bainbridge, Georgia to Thomas B. and LouDelia Sellers and attended schools in Decatur County, GA. She graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Mobile, Alabama. Mary met and married D. Robert Rowe in 1942 and the couple returned to his home town of Bangor, Maine following his discharge from the Army. She continued to practice her nursing profession after her husband's death in 1946, until her retirement in 1980.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Mary E. Rowe of Bangor, ME, and Roberta (William) Christman of Hot Springs, SD; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was active in the Catholic Church and a member of St Joseph Hospital Auxillary, Bangor, Me.
A memorial service will be held at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Hot Springs on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 10:30AM, with burial at a later date in Bangor, Me.
