Obituary

Mary Sue Hagenson, age 56, of Rapid City, SD, passed away November 21, 2009 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.

Mary Sue was born February 20, 1953 in St. Paul, MN to Leo and Mary C. (Yanz) Hagenson.

She attended St. Coletta School for the handicapped in Jefferson, WI for six years beginning at age thirteen. She had many pleasant memories of her stay. She worked diligently in the laundry at the VA in Hot Springs, SD for eighteen years. She traveled with her parents through many states and knew them well, often following them on the map as they traveled. Mary Sue was a fighter. Her greatest desire was to get back to her friends at the Black Hills Workshop. She tried hard in the hospital to have this happen.
Bowling and Special Olympics was the hi-light of her life. Counting the gold medals was her goal.

Mary Sue was the heart of her parent's life.

Survivors include her parents, Leo and Mary Hagenson of Hot Springs, SD; and brother, Richard Hagenson of Northfield, MN.

Wake services will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2009 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Father Peter Kovarik officiating.

Interment will be at Cold Springs Cemetery at a Later Date.
