Mary 'Fran' Tinsley, age 95, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away January 15, 2012, at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs.
Fran was born November 14, 1916, in Columbus, IN, to William and Edith (Whitehead) Baker. On August 20, 1971, she was united in marriage to Stanley L. Tinsley, Sr. in Carson City, NV.
Fran enlisted in the Women's Air Corp on July 31, 1944 and served until her honorable discharge on December 21, 1945. After she and Stanley retired from Civil Service in Sacramento, CA, they moved to Hot Springs.
Fran was an avid bowler for many years achieving many honors, such as Sacramento Women's 600 Club. Her bowling buddies were special to her. Another of her talents was sewing, making clothes for herself and others. She was a volunteer at the Food Pantry. Fran had a green thumb also, creating beautiful flower gardens. We should mention very quietly, that she supported the one-armed bandits, Bingo and lottery. She was fun to be with, doing whatever, when ever.
Fran is survived by one step-son, Stanley Tinsley, Jr. of Hastings, MN; five step-daughters, Joan Zacher of Fargo, ND; Sharon Fritz of Rapid City, SD; Heather Black of Post Falls, ID; Sandi (Joe) McKeon of Homestead, FL; Karla (Tom) Edgar of Napa, ID; step-son-in-law, Jack LeBlanc of Hot Springs; two brothers, James (Nancy) Baker of Chadron, NE; Robert (Helen) Baker of Columbus, IN; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith (Whitehead) Baker; husband, Stanley L. Tinsley, Sr.; step-daughter, Nedranne 'Bunny' LeBlanc; one sister and three brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
