Matthew Allen Morgan, 56, peacefully passed away March 22, 2017, at Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO, as the result of a car accident; his wife, step-daughter, mother and sisters were by his side.

Matthew was born July 6, 1960 in Seattle, WA to (the late) Harold Morgan and Lorraine (Ousley) Morgan. He spent his early years in New Orleans, Houston, TX, and Cocoa, FL, before moving to Custer in 1998. He married Sheila Johnson in 2008. Matt enjoyed four wheeling, camping and fishing with his
family. He loved music, the New Orleans Saints, Michael Savage Radio, and as everyone knew, he was
an avid animal lover.

Matt was employed by the Rapid City Journal.

Preceded in death by his dad, Harold Morgan and brother, Mark Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Sheila Morgan of Custer; step-daughter, Courtney Johnson of Custer; mother, Lorraine Morgan of Custer; sisters, Cindy Woods of Kennesaw, GA; Laura Dahl of Meridian, ID; aunts, Agnes Kline; Ferol McClaren; Dar Stoltz; two nephews, three nieces and various great- nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer with Pastor Dustin Bartlett officiating.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
