Obituary
Mavis J. Ahartz, age 81, of Edgemont, SD, passed away May 14, 2013, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Mavis was born February 24, 1932, in Greenway, SD, to Arthur and Ida Rebecca (Kusler) Heer. She graduated from high school in Igloo, SD. After graduating she was employed at Dutiots for many years until they closed, then was a checker at Fresh Start until she retired in 2007.
Survivors include her sons, David (Cheryl) Hyatt of Edgemont; Thomas Hyatt of Umatilla, OR; brother, Walter Heer of Bakersfield, CA; three grandchildren, Mandy Hyatt; Erica Hyatt; David T. Hyatt; one great-grandchild, Cadence Hyatt; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Edgemont with Pastor K.C. Smith officiating.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Edgemont. Written condolences may be made at www.mccolleyschapels.com.
