Mavis Lynn Moen, 70, passed away at her home in Hot Springs, SD on May 28, 2024.  She was born on Father's Day, June 21, 1953 in Minot, North Dakota, to Myron and Betty(Bruesch) Moen. She was baptized at the Norway Lutheran Church near Denbigh, ND.  She was the 4th of 5 children.  She attended school in Hot Springs and was confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Hot Springs.  Mavis had her son, Richard Allen in Dec. 1969 and her daughter, Tonya Marie in Sept. 1974. After living in Nebraska and Oregon, she returned to her childhood home in Hot Springs to help her mom.  She worked many jobs including Maverick Cafe, Yogi's Den and Sonny's Super.

Mavis is survived by her daughter Tonya, her granddaughters Ashley (Isaac) Goddard and Tiffany Alexander, and her grandson Richard Imberi-Moen; great-grandkids, Liam, Libby, Leo and Lucas Goddard, Caleb, Cherish and baby Alexander, and Faith Cournoyer-Moen.  Also, her brother Byron (Karen) Moen, her sisters Myra (Roger) McCollam and Micki Dawson, and many nieces and nephews.

Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, her son Richard, her brother Brian and a great-granddaughter Baylynn.

At Mavis' request, there will be no services. A memorial will be held at a later date.
