Obituary
Mavis Eileen Thoreson, age 80, of Edgemont, SD, passed away on May 21, 2015, at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs, SD.
Mavis was born on April 20, 1935, in Lemmon, SD, to Ervin and Clara (Pearson) Smith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Clara Smith; daughter, Suzanne Froelich; and her sister, Iris Slack.
Mavis is survived by her husband, Al Thoreson of Edgemont; son, Robert Saltee of Spearfish, SD; sisters, Christine (Walt) Schirber of Lead, SD; Lola (John) Hobbs of San Diego, CA; 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wed, May 27, 2015, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Edgemont, with Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker officiating. Interment will be at the Edgemont Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Mavis's name to benefit the Trail, Trains and Pioneer Museum in Edgemont.
