Max Allen Singhurst, age 84, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs.
Max was born to Jesse and Lucy (Noble) Singhurst in McAlester, OK, on June 26, 1929. He was the tenth of ten children, all of whom have preceded him in death. He proudly served in the US Army in Korea as a Corporal.
On June 7, 1953, he married Cathleen Chilson, his English teacher. Two sons were born to them: Steven and Joel.
Max graduated from Union College, Lincoln, NE, in 1959. He pastored in Lemmon, SD, Grand Forks, ND, Williston, ND, Dickinson, ND, Pine Ridge, SD, and Hot Springs, SD.
He leaves to mourn, his wife, Cathleen of Hot Springs; sons, Steve and wife, Cathee, of Tulsa, OK; Joel of Reynoldsburg, OH; four grandchildren, Earl, Michael, Tracy, and B.J.; as well as one great-granddaughter, Cassidy.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hot Springs, with Pastor Marion Miller officiating.
A memorial has been established in Max's name to benefit Gospel Outreach.
