Michael Carl Churchward, 71, passed away on November 19, 2018, at his home in Hermosa, SD.

Michael was born on May 18, 1947, to Wilbur and Mildred (Raymond) Churchward in Ft. Wayne, IN. This Vietnam Veteran proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and continued to serve his country in the United States Air Force. HIs love for the Black Hills kept him here after retirement, where he later shared his passion and love for this area with visitors from around the world during his employment at Custer State Park.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Rachel Churchward, and son, Jason Churchward.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Custer Area Veterans Memorial in Custer, SD, with Pastor Joel Ziolkowski officiating.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD.
