Nancy P. Griffin of Custer, SD, born in Torrington, CT March 1, 1952, lost her long difficult and heroic battle against cancer on December 2, 2013.

Nancy graduated from Nasson College Springvale, ME and St. Mary's Hospital School of Medical Technology, Clifton, NJ. Nancy spent most of her working career at Winsted Memorial Hospital, Winsted, CT as a Medical Technologist.

Nancy was per deceased by her parents, Maurice E. and Madeline P. Perregaux Goshen, CT.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Steve, of 39 years of Custer; daughters, Kris Griffin of Winsted, CT; Erin Halls of Custer; grandchildren, Nathaniel Riley, Dakota and Cheyla Jacquemin of Custer, Blake Liefert-Griffin of Winsted, CT.

Nancy moved to Custer to retire in 2003, along with Steve, Erin, Nate, Dakota and Cheyla. Nancy's family came first, last and always, she enjoyed gardening, was an avid jigsaw puzzler, loved scrabble, Little House on the Prairie and having barn parties with her many Custer friends.

Nancy was loved by her family and friends and will be fondly remembered for her keen sense of understanding. A woman of few words but long on wisdom!

Private services will be for family at the Custer cemetery.

There will be a celebration of Nancy's life at the V.F.W. in Custer on December 6, 2013, at 3:00 p.m.
