Obituary

Nellie Mildred Davis of Oelrichs, SD, age 85, passed away September 2, 2013, at Custer Regional Senior Care in Custer, SD.

Nellie was born November 11, 1927, at Deadwood, SD, to Roy and Florence Linton Davis. Nellie completed the eighth grade at Tripp County School on June 23, 1944. She then attended two years of high school at Provo High School, she proudly received her High School Equivalency Certificate on October 16, 1981.

Nellie was married to Ed Waggoner, to this union a daughter, Sandra Kaye was born. After this marriage ended Nellie and Arthur Parsons were married May 14, 1955.

Nellie worked at the Meca House in Custer and as a nurse's aide in Hot Springs. She and Art moved to Oelrichs in 1978, and lived there until moving to Wedgewood Assisted Living, and the past several months at Custer Regional Care Center.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents; and a brother, Samuel.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Rhodes of Hemingford, NE; brother, George (Opal) Davis of Hot Springs; sister, Inez Sharp of Cashmere, WA; sister, Margaret Kollmer of Winner, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2013, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

A memorial has been established in Nellie's name to benefit the Prairie View United Methodist Church near Smithwick, SD.
