Obituary
Neoma F. Green, 89, passed away peacefully at her home September 23, 2017 with hospice care.
Neoma was born August 19, 1928, in Mitchell, SD to John Joseph 'Joe' and Margaret (Weber) Gaetze. She attended Notre Dame Academy through the 8th grade and graduated from Mitchell Senior High. She was a graduate of Mitchell Vocational Technical Institute in culinary arts.
On January 18, 1949, she married her life mate Dwayne 'Roger' Green at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mitchell. To this union was born Rachel and Rayne. The couple raised their daughters in Mitchell. Neoma was able to be a stay at home mother. She did bookkeeping for various businesses, nanny, dental assistant and dietary aide. When Roger retired the couple decided to pursue their dream of living in the Black Hills. They purchased their home in Hill City, September 1990. Roger spent the next 10 years remodeling the couples dream home. The couple enjoyed many trips to Rapid City to pick out building materials for this home. Neoma always said that Roger would finish a room and the next day he would come and tell her he was "going to start on the next room". Neoma would smile and say her homes were always under construction. She was an avid gardener belonging to the garden clubs
in Mitchell and Hill City. The couple received garden of the month both in Mitchell and Hill City. Roger and Neoma were avid walkers. Neoma enjoyed sewing. ceramics, trying new recipes, baking, decorating her homes and doting on her grandchildren.
Neoma is survived by her daughters, Rachel Green, Hill City; Rayne Dosch, Ankeny, IA; granddaughter, Arin (Will) Tymeson, Ankeny, IA: grandson, Mathias Dosch, Pierre, SD.; great-grandson, Edward Tymeson, sister-in-law, Mary Jo Gaetze, Pierre, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Roger, in December 2010, granddaughter, Amy Dosch, and brother, Peter Gaetze.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Hill City, SD, at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2017. Burial will be at a later date.
