Norma Jean Cervinka, 77, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away March 20, 2024, in Hot Springs.
Norma was born January 6, 1947, in New Jersey, to Raymond and Elizabeth (Grove) Hill. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Trenton College in Trenton, NJ and was an elementary school teacher for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. She taught for over 20 years at Marlboro Elementary School in Marlboro, NJ.
Norma was always happy and go lucky, exuding friendliness and a king loving nature. She had a good sense of humor and was a very generous giving soul. Her positive outlook was a gift to many. She was a people pleaser and was always wearing a smile. She will be remembered for being a great mom and grandmother, better known as "Grammy". She loved her family more than anything.
Norma enjoyed reading, attending family functions and events, traveling and seeing new places, spending time with family and loved ones, entertaining others, fashion such as clothes, purses, makeup, jewelry and shoes. One of her favorite things was being with her grandchildren and mother daughter outings.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie (J.R.) Schaffner, grandson, Nicholas Josef Schaffner and granddaughter, Zoe Jain Elizabeth Schaffner. Norma is also survived by her loving sister, Janet Marsh and her brother in law, Ken Marsh.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.
