Omar Clark of Custer, South Dakota died at home Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the age of 84. He was born on June 28, 1926, in the rural part of Miller County in Missouri to Amos and Stella (Cross) Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Caroline, a brother, Gerald Parks, and a sister, Margie.
He is survived by his wife, Sheron, who was the roundup of his life; four daughters, Connie (Dale) Gartside, Livingston, MT; Charlene (Mickey) Coker, Opelousas, LA; Carol Pace, Missoula, MT; and Christy Moore (Tim Lewis), Leesville, LA; three sisters, Opal (George) Davis, Hot Springs, SD; Geraldine Waterbury, Rapid Valley, SD; Martha Muller, Rapid City, SD; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He enjoyed being outdoors and working with horses and cattle which lead to managing a ranch for 20 years in Montana and being a cattle foreman in California for 16 years. He also loved hunting, fishing, camping, and being a licensed hunting and fishing guide around the Bob Marshall and Scapegoat Wilderness in Montana.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Custer Senior Center, 538 Mt. Rushmore Road, Custer, SD from 2 to 4 on February 27, 2011.
