Paul "Corky" Valandra "went to be with his Mother" on Thursday, November 3, 2016, one day before his 69th birthday. Paul was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Hot Springs to Peter and Irene Valandra. He was the eldest of 4 sons.
Paul earned his Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a minor in Philosophy from Chadron State College in 1979. He served in the National Guard and completed his basic training in Fort Benning, Ga.
Paul was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golf and being with his family and friends and telling many stories and jokes which made us all laugh so much and love his company.
Paul is survived by his brother, Robert (Rita) Valandra of Rapid City; daughter, Bethany (Adam) Cook; granddaughter, Taryn of Hot Springs; niece, Tiffany of Rapid City: nephew, Justin of Whitewood and numerous cousins and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, 2 brothers, his grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Chamberlain-McColley Funeral Home in Hot Springs, with a luncheon to follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
