IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond Dean
Anderson
December 28, 1956 – November 7, 2019
Raymond Dean Anderson, of Rapid City, SD, passed away on November 7, 2019, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
Raymond was born December 28, 1956, in Redfield, SD to Richard and June (Baker) Anderson.
Raymond had many jobs over the years but he excelled at his job for 22 years at Central High School in Rapid City, SD as their head maintenance/custodian. He was very creative and good with his hands and he had his father's ability to tinker with most anything and get it into working order. He had a passion for fishing, was an avid rock hound and a biker dude. Raymond worked hard and he played hard. He built bridges and he burned bridges.
Raymond's sister, Jeanie, shares this poem by Richard Burton, describing Raymond's life. Ride high bro! Do what thy manhood bids thee do, from none but self expect applause; He noblest lives and noblest dies who makes and keeps his self-made laws. All other Life is living Death, a world where none but Phantoms dwell, A breath, a wind, a sound, a voice, a tinkling of the camel-bell.
Predeceasing Raymond is death are his parents.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Vanah Vanoverschelde of Huron, SD; grandsons, Samuel and Jackson; and his sister, Jeanie Tiff of Hot Springs, SD.
No services are being held.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.
