Obituary

Richard was born in Kimball, Nebraska on July 27, 1952 to Roger and Ella Mae (Anderson) Cederburg . There he raised three daughters. He kept busy with the girls’ 4-H and school activities. He farmed for thirty plus years.

In 2001 Richard married Sherl and moved to Northglenn, Colorado. Through that marriage he gained two more daughters.

In Colorado Richard worked as a warehouse manager and as a welder/fabricator. He was a hard worker all his life.

He and Sherl moved to Hot Springs, South Dakota in 2020, just as the pandemic was shutting the country down. (They came to visit friends here some years earlier and fell in love with the Black Hills.)

Richard always looked for ways to help others. He helped countless people move, helped build houses, welded for others, and stopped to help stranded motorists. Some of his hobbies were hunting and fishing, riding horses, and entertaining others.

Richard loved music all his life, and was a member of the International Western Music Association. He faithfully supported Sherl as she performed Cowboy Poetry around the country.

Richard was always active in their local church. He led the Missions team for several years. This was something very special to his heart. He continued this until his health failed. He loved Jesus all his life, and we can take comfort in knowing that he is in Jesus’ arms now.

Richard is survived by his wife Sherl, daughters: Danessa (Travis) Terrill, Jennifer (Josh) Gillming, Cathy (Wes) Lee; Cindy (David) Schenck, Becky (Steve) McFarland, sisters: Karen (Robert) Chelle, Betty Kuhlman, Sharon (Nick) Brown; brothers: James (Donna) Cederburg, and Robert (April) Cederburg, and eight grand-children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Ella Mae Cederburg.

The family would like to thank everyone who has helped in these difficult last two years.
