Richard Lee 'Dick' Brandt, 88, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away on April 7, 2018,  at the VA Medical Center, Ft. Meade, SD.

Dick was born August 1, 1929, in Lincoln, NE, to Edward and Ida (Wells) Brandt. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1952.

Dick is survived by his two step-sons, Tom (Robin) Burrell of Goodyear, AZ; John (Cindy) Burrell of Spearfish, SD; five step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren; two nephews, Roger Brandt (Susan), Ft. Worth, TX and Gary Brandt, Clearwater, FL; a grand nephew, Roger Brandt II, Ft. Worth, TX; and a great grandnephew, Roger Brandt III.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Helen Bondurant Brandt.

Memorial Services will be held 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2018, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs. Interment will be held 12:30 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

In lieu of flowers a memorial in Richard's name has been established to benefit the Hot Springs Recreation Board-Youth Golf.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
