Richard “Dick” A. Knutson, 83, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away September 7, 2026.

Dick was born October 13, 1942, in NW Minnesota and graduated from Ulen High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960 and served until his honorable discharge in 1964. He earned an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering from DeVry University in Chicago.

Dick worked for the State of Wisconsin Health and Family Services as a “glorified bookkeeper”. After he retired he managed the 100 box Bluebird Trail at the MacKenzie Center in Wisconsin.

After his divorce, he met Marty in 2010 and they moved to South Dakota in 2011 and were married in 2012.

Dick is survived by his wife, Marty; son, Rick (Marla); eleven grandchildren and was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Orianna.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, one sister and one brother.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.
