RRichard A. 'Dick' Weiss, age 71, of Custer, SD, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Advanced Care Hospital of Billings, MT.
Dick was born July 8, 1939, in Valentine, NE, to Ernest and Olga (Weidman) Weiss.
Dick is survived by his wife, Carol of Custer; daughters, Michelle (Scott) Garhart of Newcastle, WY; Kathy (Byran) Bettcher of Sheridan, WY; brother, Earl Weiss of Parmelee, SD; sisters, Erna Heinert of Valentine, NE; Irene Kaufman of Norris, SD; Darlene Guenther of Onalaska, TX; Ellen Totton of Wall, SD; four grandchildren, Travis Garhart, Katie Garhart, Brooke Bettcher and Kory Bettcher.
Dick was preceded in death by his son, Terry.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Hot Springs, SD, with Pastor Robert Anderson officiating.
A memorial has been established in Dick's name to benefit the Salvation Army.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer. Written condolences can be made at www.mccolleyschapels.com.
