Obituary
Richard Wendell Galeano, age 76, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away on January 5, 2015, at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs.
Richard was born December 8, 1938, in Baltimore, MD, to Joseph and Vera (Niedzewicke) Galeano. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1966.
Richard is survived by his wife, Susan of Hot Springs; children, Corinne (Arthur) Galeano-Tate of Davenport , IA; David (Cyndie) Strawn of Douglas, WY; Eric (Raquelle) Strawn of Spearfish, SD; Major Rick (Katrin) Galeano of the Netherlands; Justin (Janel) Strawn of Sioux Falls, SD; Amanda (Brian) Strawn-Winrow of Rushford, MN; brother, Ralph (Sandy) of Morriston, Fl; sister-in-law, Martha Galeano of Oviedo, FL; sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A wake will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs with Fr. Kerry Prendiville officiating. Committal services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Memorials in Richard's name may be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project.
