Richard James Guenthner, 57, of Edgemont, SD, died on February 16, 2018, at this home in Edgemont.

Richard was born on January 4, 1961, in Englewood, CA, to Donald and Andrea (Ray) Guenthner. He served in the United States Army from 1983, until his honorable discharge in 1984.

Richard was willing to help anyone in need. He was always able to fix anything and everything. He worked at Barkley's Ranch, Ranchers Feed and Barker's Concrete. Richard enjoyed fishing, camping, barbequing, listening to music, collecting fossils, rocks, model motorcycles, and working on cars.

He is survived by his children, Andrea (Ryan)Thompson of Little Elm, TX; Dorene (Dean) Mahaffey, Anthony White and Tabitha White all of Edgemont, SD; Jen Shipley of Escalon, CA; Sara (JR) Harper of Red Bluff, CA; sisters, Tesa (Tommy) Penrod of Oklahoma City, OK; Mea Buchet of Olalla, WA; grandchildren, Jack Thompson of Little Elm, TX; Andrew Bushman of Casper, WY; Catherine Bushman, Marie Bushman, and Logan White all of Edgemont, SD; Benjamin Wilson of Red Bluff, CA Eva Shipley and Everette Shipley of Escalon, CA; aunts, Tracey Donnelly of San Leandro, CA; Candy Davis of Modesto, CA; uncle, Mike Dusich of Corona, CA; as well as many friends that he claimed as kids and grandkids.

Richard is preceded in death by both his parents and daughter, Darcy.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Edgemont Park in Edgemont, SD.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
